1. Adams National Historical Park

The Adams National Historical Park, located in Quincy, Massachusetts, is a place that tells the story of five generations of the Adams family, a prominent American political dynasty. The park encompasses 11 historic structures and a cultural landscape on nearly 14 acres.

    • John Quincy Adams Birthplace: Nearby, where his son John Quincy Adams was born in 1767.
  2. Peacefield (Old House)
    • The home where John and Abigail Adams lived after returning from diplomatic service in Europe. It also served as the residence of their descendants, including President John Quincy Adams.
  3. Stone Library
    • Built in 1870 by John Quincy Adams’ son, Charles Francis Adams. It contains over 14,000 volumes and is considered the first presidential library in the United States.

2. Appalachian National Scenic Trail

Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park, located in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts, commemorates the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution. The park preserves and interprets the history and culture of the Blackstone River Valley, where America’s transformation from an agrarian society to an industrial power began.
